Combo Boxing

About

Founded by the previous design director of Equipment, Joie, and AG Jeans, Combo Boxing was launched under a Los Angeles fashion-house start-up incubator funded by Steyn Group, a global single-family investment platform. The brand produced performance fitness apparel focused on the sport of boxing. Unfortunately, it was one of the many businesses affected by the pandemic and was forced to shut down.

"Combo boxing is dedicated to supporting you in finding your flow. Founded to provide authentic, innovative and premium boxing activewear, our clothing meets the demands of the elite fighter, while staying true to the daily footwork."

I was brought on as the first in-house creative to help lead the brand marketing efforts and evolve the brand’s art direction.

My approach was to elevate the brand towards an aspirational athlete lifestyle with minimalism through a focused lens, while still maintaining the heritage and scrappy roots of the boxing community. Initially, the boxing clubs of the UK inspired the brand, ultimately the collections were geared towards Los Angeles athletes.

Responsibilities

  • Marketing Projects: 360 campaign strategy, manage partnerships with athletes and talent, manage PR agency and gifting schedule, owned entire email marketing funnel, developed playbook for in-person events.

  • Design Projects: Evolve the brand to be more in line with the technical side of the apparel, Lead all photoshoots, studio, and lifestyle, Art Direct campaign launches, website imagery selects, and video shoots
